Kronplatz is considered South Tyrols top ski resort, it is part of the world’s largest ski carousel, the Dolomiti Superski and is only seven kilometres away from Winkler. The wide, almost tree free, ski slopes of Kronplatz dominate the area. With its 116 km of ski slopes and 32 modern cablecars, it has slopes for everyone, for beginners, more advanced skiers or someone looking for something a bit more daring.
There are long runs down to the valley for practicing wide curves, as well as the five black slopes, locally known as the „Black Five“. Snowboarders and Freestylers haven’t been forgotten either, the Snowpark Kronplatz, seems like it was made for recordbreaking jumps. For beginners there are unendless possibilities with a choice of courses from one of the biggest ski schools in the area, there are also numerous ski rental shops with top quality equipment. Have a quick snack in one of the alpine lodges or finish off your day on the mountains with some Aprés Ski in one of the many bars and pubs in the area.
Sella Ronda and Sextner Dolomites
A skibus leaves Winkler daily for the ski resort Kronplatz. Do you want to do the Sellaronda, a circular ski tour around the Sella massif, during your holiday? There is a bus service which takes you from Kronplatz to the start of the Sellaronda in Alta Badia. More adventures on the slopes are guaranteed with the Ski Pustertal Express. This train connects the ski resort Kronplatz with the Sextner Dolomiten. That means that you can go from one ski resort to another every half hour. The Mobil Card means that you can use this service free of charge.
